Adam Magee

Adam Magee is a commercial rated hot air balloon pilot. Adam was the first balloon pilot named both the 2019 Federal Aviation Administration Des Moines FSDO Certified Flight Instructor of the Year as well as the 2019 Federal Aviation Administration Central Region Certified Flight Instructor of the Year. In November 2018, Adam was asked to write a featured article on flight instruction in the Federal Aviation Administration Safety Briefing Magazine. He is currently writing a series in the BFA BALLOONING Journal called “Balloon.edu” focusing on training new pilots. Adam is a past recipient of the Bill Murtorff Spirit of Ballooning Award from the Balloon Federation of America as well as a past recipient of a BFA Director’s Award. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Balloon Federation of America Hot Air Competition Division, is a Board member and Treasurer of The National Balloon Museum in Indianola, IA, and is the co-founder and President of The Balloon Training Academy a 501(c)3 non profit organization designed to train, educate, and develop the next generation of hot air balloon pilots. Adam is also a FAA Safety Team Representative, WINGSPro, and DronePro.
